Automating the Future of Interventional Radiology with Smart Assistive Technologies
Smart Human-centred Effortless support for Professional clinical Applications (SHERPA)
SHERPA aims to support interventional radiologists (IRs) by providing AI-powered assistive technologies as a seamless and trusted companion across workflows in neurology and oncology.
Our project focuses on two main clinical applications: neurovascular interventions and liver tumor ablations.
By automating complex tasks and providing reliable decision support, SHERPA enhances the quality of care and reduces the burden on healthcare professionals.

Objectives
AI and Robotics Assistance for IRs
Provide IRs with assistive technologies and seamlessly integrate AI and robotics in neurological and oncological interventions
Framework for Impact Evaluation
Develop a tailored methodological framework to assess the value of assistive technologies
Enhanced Workflows
Improve staff focus and experience, increase efficiency and reduce workload through automated image-guided workflows
Proven Value of Assistive Technologies
Demonstrate benefit of automated IR workflows in real-world clinical settings in neurology and oncology
Improved Patient Outcomes
Drive the adoption of new standards and enhance precision and accuracy in clinical decision-making
