APHP

The Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (APHP) is a public healthcare institution and the university hospital center of the Île-de-France region, France. It is the largest employer in the Île-de-France region, employing 100,000 people—doctors, researchers, paramedics, administrative staff, and workers. Every year, its 39 hospitals welcome 7 million sick people: for consultation, emergency care, scheduled hospitalization or home hospitalization.

The NEURI interventional neuroradiology department of the Bicêtre Hospital AP-HP manages diagnosis as well as treatments of adult and pediatric patients suffering from vascular diseases of the brain and spinal cord (including strokes). The department performs complex, minimally invasive procedures without opening the skull, while minimizing the risks to the patient. The department specializes in the treatment of neurovascular pathologies that can be neurologically life-threatening, and even improves the outcome of patients undergoing emergency treatment for stroke.

The department headed by Prof. Spelle has a worldwide reputation for the quality of its research, its cutting-edge treatments for patients and the training of its doctors.

Role in the project

The APHP Bicêtre – NEURI department, will provide its expertise in aneurism treatment and will share part of its database of more than 1300 MRI and associated DSA of unruptured aneurism to train and test the aneurism rupture predictive model in the Aneurism@risk study. The Bicêtre team will also be involved in the INTERACT & ASSIST study, to provide feedback and expertise on the simulation tools that are already standard practice in the department. Finally, as co-organizer of the LINNC Seminars and members of the ESMINT committee, NEURI will be involved in the dissemination, communication and exploitation of the studies results.
